Summary of Recent Updates

IRD Educational Visits

The IRD has been conducting walk-up ‘educational visits’ in specific business industry sectors to ensure tax compliance and identify potential discrepancies. These surprise ‘educational visits’ target high-risk industries where cash transactions are common, aiming to detect underreporting and improve overall compliance.

Just a little reminder to have all your paperwork in order in case you receive one of their educational visits.

Get Organised for Year-End Tax Time

With the end of the financial year just around the corner, now’s a great time to get your business finances in order. Here are some tips to help you get prepared:

1 Review Your Records: Gather and organise all your receipts and invoices. If you haven’t already, consider scanning or digitising paper records - it’ll make things much easier down the line.

2 Reconcile Your Accounts: Double-check that your accounts match your bank statements. A quick reconciliation now can help spot any discrepancies before tax time.

3 Prepare for Tax Obligations: Review your tax obligations and payment deadlines so you’re not caught off guard when it’s time to pay.

A little organisation now goes a long way in making tax season smoother and ensuring you maximise your deductions!

13 Tactics for Winners: A Tip to Succeed

We’ve created a guide called “13 Tactics for Winners” to help you succeed in business and life. It’s packed with practical advice on setting goals, staying motivated, and overcoming challenges.

This month, we’re highlighting one tactic from the guide to get you started:

This Month's Tactic: Believe in Yourself

Success requires confidence. As Henry Ford wisely noted, "Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right!" Your self-belief shapes not just your actions, but how others perceive your products and services.

Ask yourself:

  • Do you truly believe in what you're offering?

  • Does your team share your confidence?

We'll share another tactic next month to keep you inspired. If you'd like to explore all 13 tactics now, you can download the full guide below.
